Manda Bay is a small boutique lodge located on the north western tip of Manda Island, one of the many unspoiled, idyllic islands of the Lamu archipelago. An exclusive resort, Manda Bay offers barefoot luxury
and informal pampering.
All the buildings are constructed with local materials in traditional coastal style, with palm thatch roofs and woven matting covering the floors. The cottages overlook the Indian Ocean and are carefully sited to catch the sea breeze. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with double or twin beds, large flowing mosquito nets, private verandahs, overhead fans and a small fridge to keep your drinks cool.

Breakfast and lunch are in the central dining room, which is beautifully furnished with locally crafted Lamu furniture. A large lounge and bar area on the waterfront, with breezes flowing through, is the ideal retreat in the heat of the afternoon. Darts, table tennis and a pool table in the games room offer alternative entertainment, and the games room encompasses a swimming pool overlooking the creek. There is an air conditioned boutique and a quiet upstairs sitting room. Surrounded by miles of soft yellow sand and acres of wildlife filled bush behind the lodge, Manda Bay combines a beach and bush experience with camp fires, star gazing, walks, a multitude of different water sports and peaceful tranquility for those who wish to simply unwind. Manda Bay creates delicious gourmet cuisine, using the freshest ingredients possible including a large variety of hand-selected seafood. All food preferences & allergies are catered for, but advance information is requested. The lodge is personally hosted and the management takes every care to cater to your needs. Please note that guests may eat alone or with a group as they wish.
Manda Conservation & Safaris Ltd. is affiliated to Lamu Aviation, which has its own Air Operators Licence and operates out of Lamu and Manda Bay. There are currently two single engine aircraft both able to carry 5 passengers with light luggage and a Super Cub, which carries one passenger for quick scenic flights in the local area.
