Kenya Beach Resort: Indian Ocean Beach Club
The Indian Ocean Beach Club has a prime location on a stretch of white sand bordering a marine park on the Indian Ocean, prompt and personal service, and attention to detail and quality in everything it does. Designed in Swahili style, and situated next to a 16th Century mosque, there are a hundred rooms in clusters of thatched cottages and double storey, whitewashed rooms with flat roofs. Each room has beautifully designed and crafted furniture and all facilities.
In the reception area you will see the century-old crystal chandelier given to the Sultan of Zanzibar by British traders in return for landing rights. The baobab trees in the gardens are six hundred years old. A sense of history combines with modern facilities and the sounds of the coast - the rasp of the cicadas, the surf on the beach and the whirring of the fans - to make the perfect atmosphere for utter relaxation. A swimming pool and three plunge pools all await you! For the slightly more energetic, there are a variety of water sports and the option of taking a diving qualification at the hotels resident diving school. The food is delicious. Spices serves breakfast and dinner, lunch is taken on The Ocean Terrace, while the Bahari Cove is an open air, a la carte restaurant practically on the beach, which features the finest shellfish and Swahili seafood. The Dhow Bar on the beach, which has its own collection of multi-trunk baobabs, serves cocktails and is the perfect place for a couple of sundowners. The Indian Ocean Club offers genuine hospitality, faultless service and intrinsic charm - you won't want to leave. · SCUBA Diving |
