The Ngezi forest, a 15 minute drive, is home to several endemic birds , unique world wide to just Pemba including the Scops Owl, which can be visited at night and day.The Fugoni sand banks, just north of the lodge is a paradise for beach walks on Sand dunes that dissapear and reappear with the tides every day, full of birds, crabs and shells. Anywhere you go, nature will offer you a unique glimpse into the natural magic that is Pemba. The oceans around Pemba are famously blue, teeming with coral life and fish ideal to swim, snorkel, dive and fish. With accomodation for a maximum of 25/30 people in 14 bungalows, the property offers an exclusice touch set away from the crowds, in a stunning hideaway. An unfogettable experience...
A unique site... The lodge is on the Ras Kigomasha peninsula, just north of the Ngezi forest, and reached from either Chake Chake airport or Mkoani Port by Taxi. The island is also accessible via the mainland by boats from Tanga in Tanzania and Shimoni in Kenya through the port of Wete. The sea front bungalows are perched on timber platforms , directly open to the ocean in the front., with stunning views of the sea. Mornings are awaken to the sea waves on the beach, and birds singing in the trees, and evenings you fall asleep to bush babies (lemurs) cackling away in the tress to each other and between the bungalow roofs and shore line trees. Each bungalow is and enormous 50 square meters, with large beds, mosquito nets, verandah couch, chairs and en suite a bathroom.
