Il Moran is for those who want that extra sense of luxury, there are just ten beautifully furnished tents by the side of the Mara River. The camp is hidden in the shadow of ancient trees and Il Moran recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting camps.
Accommodation is superb. The beds have been hand carved from specially selected wood from fallen, ancient olive trees. The interior of each tent also includes a Victorian style bath, flush loo and double sinks. There is a large, extended verandah, designed so that visitors may dine there in private if so wished.
At Il Moran you will be treated as the personal guests of the managers, Iain and Annie de Beer, who have a wealth of experience managing prestigious properties in South Africa and Tanzania. Game drives and game walks are included in the rate and complimentary wine is served with dinner.
During the day meals are served under the giant trees. For breakfast there are fresh fruits, cereals and fresh-baked breads, together with a full cooked breakfast barbecued before your very eyes. For lunch there is a buffet that will satisfy the hugest of appetites. In the evening guests enjoy cordon bleu dinners by candlelight, deep in the bush. These are a truly unforgettable experience.
At Il Moran birds and butterflies abound, elephant wander through the camp and, at night, leopard call nearby. This is one of the best game watching areas in the whole country and nowhere else can you get so far from civilisation, yet stay in such style.
