Kenya Safari Recommendations
Recommendations for Visiting Kenya

I love Kenya. Kenya is, without doubt, THE most stunningly beautiful country in Africa. From the bleached sands of the eastern coast lapped by the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean to the primitive aridity of little-visited Turkana, Kenya offers a wonderful variety of landscape, a people that are utterly charming and friendly, a rich and fascinating culture and, of course, fabulous wildlife.
My very first trip to Kenya jogged my memory from childhood. The picture many have of Africa, that of golden savannah dotted with game and studded with flat-topped umbrella acacias is actually the landscape of Kenya! It has been featured in so many Hollywood movies and wildlife films that it is embedded in our psyches as the real Africa. This is the land of the classic safari and luxurious lodges, the land of wide blue skies and the land of enchantment.
You will never be disappointed in Kenya, the country is huge, there are so many places to see and you simply cannot see it all in one visit! I am warning you now, expect to keep going back! I do.

PS My friend just returned from Kenya and she was kind enough to write this for me to put on our web site:
" My husband, John, and I just returned from a wonderful journey to Kenya. We arrived in Nairobi in mid-January while the protests were still going on. Since we had a local driver we managed to avoid them. In between demonstrations the streets were strangely empty. By the time we left on Feb. 4th Nairobi had returned to business as usual with lots of people moving about their normal business. We travelled to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha (fortuneately before the protests broke out there). We also went to the Aberdares and the Masai Mara where there we no signs of political unrest at all. Kenya is simply stunning and we can't decided which we like best - the people or the animals - both were marvellous. Overall we felt safe and incredibly well cared for. There were so few tourists in Kenya that we had the game parks to ourselves and everywhere we stayed we were treated like heroes or royalty.
If I were going now I would still avoid the west (Kisimu, Eldoret and Lake Victoria) and investigate the present situation in Nakuru.

Personally, I'd go back to Kenya in a heartbeat!"
