Phinda Private Game Reserve

CC Africa’s Phinda Private Game Reserve is situated in the lush Maputaland region in northern KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Bordering the iSimangaliso/Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage Site – Phinda comprises 23 000 hectares (57 000 acres) of prime conservation land. Seven distinct habitats shelter an abundance of wildlife including Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, black and white rhino, buffalo) and over 380 bird species, while the marine diversity off the nearby coast of Sodwana is said to rival the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Guests can look forward to exciting game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles led by experienced rangers and Zulu trackers, as well as thrilling optional activities on the water, in the air and on the beach. Cheetah are abundant here in the Phinda Forest and Vlei Lodge as well as Walking safaris camp near by.

PHINDA ROCK LODGE - SOUTH AFRICA SAFARI

Rock Lodge - Consists of six exceptional suites suspended from the side of a rocky cliff. Each suite has a spacious bedroom with bath, shower, twin hand basins and separate w.c.

All suites have their own private sitting area, personal bar, plunge pool and deck offering unrivalled views of spectacular Leopard Rock and the valley.

PHINDA VLEI LODGE - SOUTH AFRICA SAFARI

Vlei Lodge - consists of six stilted glass and thatch suites situated in the rare Dry Sand Forest. Each suite features an en-suite bathroom with twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c.

All suites have a personal bar on the deck and private plunge pools.

PHINDA FOREST LODGE - SOUTH AFRICA SAFARI

Forest Lodge - Phinda Forest Lodge lies within the 15 000 hectares/3 800 acres of Phinda Private Game Reserve, in the Maputaland region of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Phinda neighbours the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park – a World Heritage Site – to the east and is only 30km/19 miles due west of the white-fringed beaches of the Indian Ocean.

Set deep in the heart of a rare Dry Sand Forest, the Lodge comprises 16 private stilted suites, a sparkling rim-flow swimming pool, luxurious dining and sitting areas, and an expansive viewing deck with panoramic views of the game-filled plains.

Forest Lodge Suites

The 16 air-conditioned glass suites are built on stilts and appear to float between the rare Dry Sand Forest floor and the towering torchwood trees.

The suites are situated to ensure absolute privacy and each bathroom features twin hand basins, bath, separate shower and separate w.c. All suites have a personal bar on their private veranda.

PHINDA ZUKA LODGE - SOUTH AFRICA SAFARI

Zuka Lodge - The four thatched Zululand bush cottages are set 15 metres (50 feet) apart, featuring verandas overlooking a bustling waterhole.

Sitting areas feature built-in sofas which double as beds for parents travelling with children 5 years and younger. Air-conditioned bedrooms have fans and en suite bathrooms, with a circular stone bath chamber, double showers, separate w.c and twin hand basins.

Getty House - Getty House is a sophisticated sole-use villa on Phinda Private Game Reserve situated in the west of the Reserve on 3 500 hectares.

The exclusive, cutting-edge private residence overlooks an extinct volcano now covered in lush green vegetation and ringed by gently rolling hills.

Getty House Accommodation - stylish yet simple

The Lodge is a combination of Eastern Free State sandstone with timber, thatch and screeded cement, airy free flowing spaces and hues of grey, slate and celadon are breathtakingly stylish and sophisticated yet refreshingly simple. Natural fibres and textures characterize the interiors.

Accommodation is in four spacious suites featuring unique sliding panel windows with beautiful views. An interactive kitchen allows for intimate and informal dining.
