Vuyatela Lodge

Djuma Game Reserve is located in the game-rich Sabi Sand Reserve, alongside the Kruger National Park. Guests can expect to see the Big Five and more than 300 bird species at Djuma, which takes its name from the Shangaan word meaning "roar of the lion". There are three small camps that ensure personalised attention for all guests. Vuyatela, meaning, "come and visit again", was handcrafted by the local Shangaan people, thus creating jobs as well as a unique and beautiful lodge. Each of the 8 air-conditioned chalets or kayas (Shangaan word for house) has a bedroom, dressing room and bathroom with outdoor shower and separate lounge. The bedrooms look out onto teak decks with private plunge pools. The main lodge includes a large double deck, outdoor dining, wine cellar, bar overlooking the watering hole, indigenous aquarium, suspended bird-watching tower, Internet library, gymnasium and relaxation room. Activities include game drives and guided walks in the bush. Guests may accompany their Shangaan guide to his nearby village, where they will have the opportunity to interact with his family and friends in a very authentic and contemporary African environment.
