Okavango ~ A Premier 6 Wilderness Camp

Vumbura Plains is a luxury tented camp situated in Vumbura Reserve, a private concession in the extreme north of the Delta, with a wonderful variety of habitats, diverse wildlife and an enormous traversing area of 55,000 hectares.

The camp as a whole consists of two separate seven-roomed camps, each with its own dining, lounge and bar area. The rooms are uniquely designed, spacious and raised off the ground on wooden decks. Each has a large, comfortable bedroom, lounge, sala, en-suite facilities with an outdoor shower and its own plunge pool.

The main dining, lounge and pub area is also raised off the ground with a wonderful vista across the floodplains and tucked beneath a canopy of cool, shady, indigenous trees. Vumbura Plains offers both land and water activities, principally game viewing in varied countryside, its open Land Rovers allowing close proximity to animals. Lion, leopard, elephant, cheetah and buffalo along with all the plains animals (including contrasts such as the water-loving red lechwe and the sable of the dry savannah) provide an excellent all-round wildlife experience in a remote and private region of the Okavango. Birds are abound in large varieties and quantities. Walks, mokoros and boating present Africa from a different perspective.
