Jacana Camp is a true water camp offering mokoro and walking safaris all year round. Situated just outside the Moremi Game Reserve, this camp is set in one of the mist densely populated areas for the beautiful red lechwe, sitatunga antelope and wattled crane. While for most of the year, the emphasis is on water-oriented activities, as the floodwaters recede (from about Sept to May), day and night game drives in open land rovers are possible too.

There is an abundance of big game in the area, depending on the water levels, such as elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. Bird enthusiasts can spot Pel's Fishing Owls as well as Greater and Lesser Jacanas.

Accommodation is in five Meru-style tents, each raised on a wooden deck with wonderful views over the floodplains. The ensuite bathroom is enclosed but roofless. The main dining area is on an elevated wooden deck between two enormous sycamore trees and surrounded by dense wild date palms.

Downstairs, there is a cozy pub and lounge, with an area to sit around an open fire under the stars. This camp can be blocked off for groups of six or more with no surcharge, making it perfect for those who want a private group experience.
