• With the Savute Channel flowing for the first time since 1983, the wildlife dynamic of the Linyanti region has changed.

• The famed elephant population that historically dispersed in the summer months now stay in the Linyanti in good numbers thanks to the flowing Savute Channel.

• Expansive floodplains surrounding Zibadianja Lagoon and Savute Channel are optimal game viewing areas.

• The Linyanti offers diverse habitats including inspirational mopane woodland with seasonal pans (fill with water at this time of year), productive acacia woodland favoured by carnivore and herbivore alike, Kalahari apple leaf woodland and cool riverine forest.

• Large predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog are all resident throughout summer, as are their prey species.

• Between November and December, many antelope species give birth. Birthing impala cover the landscape in their numbers; this plethora of young animals attracts a variety of predators in their turn.

• The birth of species from zebra to mongoose and warthog make for a wondrous time to observe and photograph the comical and endearing antics of young learning to face life for the first time.

• Phenomenal birding opportunities abound thanks to habitat diversity in close proximity and the influx of migratory species adds further colour and numbers.

• The Linyanti region offers a diverse array of activities from walks to safari drives and even, for the first time, canoe trips on the Channel itself.
