Chobe Game Lodge
Chobe National Park, Botswana - Classic 4
Chobe Game Lodge is one of Botswana's most exclusive safari resorts. Situated in the remote and unspoiled northern territory of Chobe National Park, approximately 1.5 hours from Victoria Falls.
Built in the early 1970's, the luxury 5-star lodge was designed to make the most of the river frontage. The wide front veranda offers views of the river from comfortable and elegantly appointed seating areas – and every room has a balcony that faces the river.
The recently built boardwalk has added a whole new dimension to game-viewing – simply find your favourite spot along this 250 metre elevated platform and settle down to watch the ever-changing wildlife parade across the river, islands, floodplains and even as far away as Namibia.
Arriving at Chobe Game Lodge feels more like joining a family rather than simply being a guest in a lodge. Our dedicated team will welcome you through the doors and be there with a smile to ensure that every moment of your stay is a special one.
Chobe Game Lodge has the only all-female guiding team in Africa. Fourteen professional guides from Botswana will share with you their intimate knowledge of the wildlife and flora of Chobe National Park. Not only are they qualified and enthusiastic nature guides but our team of lady guides will also share with you their passion for Botswana and their culture, ensuring that each guest leaves with a more rounded knowledge of this wonderful nation.
Rooms overlook the river, decks overlook the Chobe National Park and candles light up the many terraces and bar areas where you can find your own space.
The accommodation at Chobe Game Lodge is comprised of 42 twin/double rooms, four luxury private suites and one family unit. Rooms are all river-facing, with spacious decks and air-conditioning, as well as a complimentary mini-bar.
There are seven interleading rooms, ideal for friends and families travelling together.
There are no televisions in any of the rooms! We are in the bush, so enjoy the tranquillity, the birds and the wildlife.
Chobe National Park
Chobe National Park is one of the world’s greatest safari destinations, boasting four distinctly different ecosystems: the spectacular Chobe floodplains and riverfront to the northeast, the Savute Marsh in the west, the Linyanti Swamps in the northwest and Nogatsaa, the hot, dry hinterland in between.
The Chobe Riverfront boasts the largest concentration of elephant in Africa – more than 40 000 of them – making this one of the best game viewing locations in Africa. Giraffe punctuate the skyline; hundreds of antelope dot the landscape, and the magnificent elephants dominate the riverbanks – drinking and playing in the water.
Driving or boating amongst huge herds of elephant is something everyone should experience and Chobe Game Lodge is fortunate enough to have the prime location on the Chobe Riverfront.
The Chobe region is home to more than 450 species of birds and is a must for keen birders. Apart from the regional specials such as rosy-throated longclaw and African skimmer there is the spectacle of huge flocks of African openbills, pratincoles and colourful bee-eaters to enjoy.
Along with huge numbers of elephant; healthy herds of buffalo sometimes 200 strong, lion, leopard and even the endangered wild dog are all frequently seen.
A trip to Botswana is not complete without a visit to the magnificent Chobe River in the Chobe National Park!
